Someone once told me that there are more dogs than children in San Francisco. There are lots of bark parks and a great dog run along the beach at Fort Funston just outside SF. Fun to watch hang gliders there too. Good luck.

If you should have any pet related emergencies, Dove Lewis is the best ER in Portland. VCA also has several animal hospitals around town. They recently purchased Northwest Veterinary Specialists in Clackamas, which is the only other animal hospital I've used. There are obviously others around town. You might message Doxie for her recommendations since she works in the field.

The bane of traveling and getting different food and water all over the place. I find the tap water at some places doesn't agree with me. I'm sure it meets all federal guidelines (usually), just different enough that my system rebels.
