now there's my brother playing *the little carpenter* and putting staves against the walls and building up something really similar to a little wooden altar for his ps2. Now what once was my room has all the appearance of a perfect stable. Maybe he would be more comfortable in a pigsty..anyhow...

I have a black male cat as well.
Why is he "about to die"?
I also had an all white male cat (big--16 lbs.) who was amazing. Looked innocent and sweet because he was white--lol. But he also was a ferrocious warrior and dominated the feline world on my street--lol; not other cat could take him. He even took on racoons and chased them away from "his territory". While a warrior in his world, he was always sweet to me and even liked to sleep stretched out next to me each night.
One morning I found him lying on the kitchen floor in convulsions . . . took him to the vet . . . they tried valliantly to save him and did revive him for a while . . . turns out he was tagged by a poisonous spider . . . ultimately, he did not survive it. Amazing how such a tough cat could be taken down by a tiny spider.
It was sad
Good memories though.
Cats are truly amazing creatures.
