Yeah, Signs wasn't a perfect film, but I thought the aliens were effective in their own way. That scene of grainy news footage, when those south american kids freak out, made my hair stand on end. The director is almost too smooth for his films own good, but i like his intentions. If you want to see a really freaky film, you should come with me, vdrak80 and jumping spider, to see Warm Water Under a Red Bridge, at Koin tomorrow @ 7. (or maybe 9:40) We're real low-key people, just film lovers, and you're welcome to join us. I know Jumping Spider has written to you before, so you kind of already know him. I personally look over all the media coverage as I do most media coverage of anything and take it for what I can. Which is historically this is a huge event because yes we had never had an attack on mainland US soil. Historically it is a major point. A do completely agree with you that there are atrocities happening all over the world that I feel require MUCH more attention but I don't think because of that this is something to be ignored. Do I agree with killing many innocent people so as to wash the blood out of the simple minds of most Americans? No. Do I agree with going after a scapegoat to fulfill that sense of vengeance? No. I am always one to try and create positive from negativity so I would say lets just try to make sure these sorts of things won't happen any more. If that means accepting that our governing body has done some horrible things that we the public have to deal with. I accept that and have always accepted that we live in a pretty fucked up country. Relative to other places it isnt so bad. I think this incident does touch us all in different ways though. My sister lives in New York. She is the most important thing to me in the world and I couldn't fathom the thought of losing her. Because of all this I fear for her. That doesnt mean that I will give up my privacy as I am a staunch civil libertarian. We must must must protect our civil rights and not let our fucked up governing body blind us with images of catastrophe.

I love that you speak your mind so freely.... I admire that quality. I don't meet many people that are as blunt as myself and it is kinda frustrating cause you never really know if someone is just saying things to please present company or if they really mean it.

I dunno.. In my experience people that are to much of any one thing always seem to be the most interesting.

I went back to a city that I'd lived in in my early twenties & ended up talking to a few women that I'd had excruciating crushes on but was too shy to really DO anything about it.
turns out it was kind of a two-way street, as far as shyness goes.
a well-developed sense of sarcasm is one of the sexiest things I can think of (it won't get you many friends, but it'll get you a few good ones)

you'd probably make more money just waitressing...i know this doesn't sound all that appetizing either but, i have had a couple friends say that delivering pizza can bring in some good tips...they were both making over $10/hour...and they had the freedom to drive around and get away from the oven...and...i saw today that hot lips pizza is hiring...anyway's there's some other jobs out there too...the one time i went to an underage strip joint the place was filled with the worst tippers i have ever seen...one of the strippers (she was definately my favorite) had to slap her ass, <HARD> repeatedly while repeating in a load voice to "Give me money you cheap assholes!!!"..and i hate to say it, but it really didn't work...but i don't know, it could have just been a bad night...~A

I'm gonna be doing work-study, too.
I figure if it gets me a few extra bucks to make my spare time a little less miserable, so be it. Resume material is good anyway,
