It's definitely a privilege to not read a rape joke and then think "that's already happened to me/my mom/my friend", especially since most of my friends who HAVE been raped don't tell their male friends. It's a reality that a lot of people, usually men, have the LUXURY to not be aware of. I think that's an aspect of privilege that people rarely understand: not having rape jokes feel like a punch to the gut is a PRIVILEGE.
