I only buy present for my little cousins because they love everything they get (usually they love the wrap or the box even more than the gift itself) and for my boyfriend because I know what he likes and what he needs to have.
I don't really like Christmas, I hope I can spend it like last year, alone with my boy (and my cats!) with a bottle of wine watching the fireworks from the top of my roof.

Christmas and New Years' seem to be a depressing time for a lot of people, myself included. I think it brings a lot of deep seated issues into focus (family, what will next year bring, money, etc.) Perhaps you can come up with your own weird holidays to celebrate next year that reflect what you want to celebrate/remember and spend them with people that you want/need to. For me, I will be celebrating Tres de Mayo this year (the one year "birthday" of my prosthetic leg with pictures of my leg wearing a birthday hat and maybe blowing (or kicking?) the candles out). Who gives a damn about a bunch of Pilgrims, although Halloween is cool.
