Shy is OK, remember most anyone you'd be singing with is shy as well. And what's the point to "songs that voices never share"? Many years ago a place I was living at had an open mic night, I took the 1st slot to overcome my shyness. After a few weeks I was comfortable with the other performers and the early evening pup regulars. And started to go to a couple of other pubs open mic nights. Good luck. And like a cat always make a mistake look like it was what you intended.
