If you pick your focus point (it's in the camera settings), you can then have control of what exact point your camera focuses on. I'm assuming your shooting using the default focusing settings which allow the camera to guess at what the focus point should be. If you want me to explain in more detail or help you set this up, just shoot me a message. :)

@Smashbase nope I've got all that set up. I'm still using a kit lens on a very old camera and I'm struggling with it doing as it's told. I'm working on it, though. I'm gonna buy a new lens and hope that fixes it even a little! I can't justify buying a new camera right now! Seriously though, thanks SO much for the offer! I'm honoured! heh
