Hiya,
yeah, not feeling too bad today. Bit of a dull start to the week, work wise, but I guess it all ebbs and flows, can't be doing exciting stuff all the time. Had a wonderful restful evening last night, nice chicken curry, bit of xbox and a film. Great nights sleep and now I'm feeling much more chirpy, fingers crossed I can stay like this.

Thank you to everyone who sent lovely supportive messages,
she is feeling much better and her first HIV test came back negative so big sighs of relief all round. There is a window period for HIV so she will have another test in 2 weeks and again in 3 months. She is on ARV's so things are looking up.

you don't deserve to be dealing with this, nor does anyone -- it's one of the only things in the world that nobody should ever have to experience. it changes people. some for good, some for bad, but i can promise you that everyone who has had to endure anything even remotely like what your loved one has is so much stronger. it'll be tough, believe me, i speak from experience, but with faith in yourselves and each other, you can move mountains.
and iiiiiiif you just so happen to move those mountains out of your way on the way to california, i have a huge huge and an internet cafe to keep you company.

Great post Diaz, i think as you rightfully said, "..I don't post these horrible figures to be 'negative' about my country" I think its important to be a realist about these things.
To all those people who are thinking of coming to SA to visit, do not be discouraged by these things, SA is still a beautiful place and as Diaz said "The simple fact is that South African people have a spirit that anyone who visits this country will be touched by.."
