I've heard mixed stories about working on those. The general rule is that if you get a front of house job (concierge, server, bartender, casino worker, clerk) they tend to treat you like gold. After all, happy staff = happy guests.
But if you're working back of house (housekeeping, stewarding, custodian, stocker), I've heard they treat you like garbage. It makes sense, seeing as how you can't just quit and get off the boat.
It probably varies from company to company; and I'm sure there are awesome cruise lines to work for.
