but we just found out my mom may have some kidney problems so I am very worried for her...

It might not be exactly the same, but it could actually be better! Think about how much fun you could have if you were able to have an event that was completely yours, freed from having to worry about socio-political issues.

None of us gets everything exactly the way we want it, but there are huge rewards for maintaining a positive frame of mind and searching out all the really cool, fun things that are possible. smile

Employment-wise, you know that no matter how much you love your job, minimum wage (or anything close to it) isn't going to be viable for the long term. Make a detailed plan for how you get from here to where you want to be, and start putting it into action...
