I applied for a mortician job and almost got it once. I think it's best that I didn't, because I don't know if I could have resisted taking candid polaroids of the deceased in party hats.
i remember asking dad: "why would guys want their bodies painted?"
"i think the idea is you paint the girls," dad said.
i didn't really get that either. i was twelve. by thirteen i was a little less clueless.
i love looking at you, but i'd enjoy seeing more of your stuff on canvass and paper too.
and while i have generally favored burning, my wife beth threatens to ground me should i pass first - i'm gonna suggest that that'd be cool if she'll get you to do the preliminary cutting and sucking out and scraping and such.... give my dead flesh a treat on the off chance it's still paying attention somehow.
i suppose you've read 'the loved one'? it's a pretty good movie too.
