So I'm down in Miami for one week and waddayaknow!... A hurricane is coming! It should be here tomorrow. What's actually more irritating than the simple fact that it's coming is that it's only going to be a 1. Which basicly means we are going to get some wind and some rain, but nothing exciting. So for the next three days the weather is going...

Georgia....the things I could tell you about Georgia. Ready for long journal comment-y rant? K, go!
So my cousin (who is a few months younger than me) got married last Thanksgiving at her daddy's country club in a small town in Georgia that happens to be the Carpet Capital of the World (not relavent, just funny). Yes, in other words, she made us fly into Atlanta on the busiest travel weekend of the year, rent a car and drive to this little shit hole town to watch her marry (I kid you not) a man named Jeb. The morning of the wedding we went out for coffee, or tea in my case because I gave up coffee years ago. So we go to this little coffee shop, where they have a framed 8 x 11 piece of paper over the register that reads something along the lines of this: "We should be thankful for:
Christopher Columbus for planting a cross on every island he landed on, and for Christianizing the heathens he found."
and a whole list along those lines. Then in big print it said: "THE SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE MEANS THAT THE STATE CANNOT CONTROL RELIGION. CHRISTIAN VALUES MUST CONTROL THE STATE!"
So if that's not creepy enough, they called us "yankees" when they heard our accents. So my mom, god bless her, called them traitors. Well, the south did commit treason, after all.
Yes, small southern towns are weird. Thank god I live in a city.
Later in the day my grandmother told me that if I didn't get married soon I would never find a man to marry me, because I would be too old. To which I replied: "Yes Grandma, but I do live in Massachusetts, I could always marry a woman."
End rant!
Hope you are well.

Jeeeeeez. That sucks. But good for you for not taking the "compensation". I've never had to go through a trial or anything, but I can imagine how stressful it is.
Thank you, by the way.
Thank you, by the way.

oh honey....i just read your journels from the past few days (have been hiding from the computer)....
i'm so impressed at how strong you are, i know for sure i wouldn't be able to go through with all that. a few years ago i was date-raped, and dealing with the guilt was so difficult for me that i didn't end up prosecuting the guy at all. now, i wish i had been strong enough to deal with it, to face all the questions and accusations and to make sure he didn't get away with it. but i didn't. i couldn't. so you should be so immensely proud of yourself for being a good, strong wonderful person and making sure this creep gets what's coming to him.
i wish i had known you were in boston too - we totally could have hung out and done fun things. to eachother. (is it wrong to flirt with you after talking about rape, because i really don't mean to come off creepy).
anyway, you are awesome and wonderful and strong and beautiful and will be fine.

I feel bad about being such a mope so early into this journal. But I have to get some stuff off my chest and I'm sure there aren't very many of you who actually read this anyway.
so...
I had an actual physical meeting with my lawyer and counselor today for the first time regarding my trial (I'm prosecuting a man who tried to rape...

She blew me off again. I don't understand it. I wish she would just explain to me what is going on.
I feel pretty low right now. I hate it when people play games like this, I'm always so honest about how I'm feeling. Why can't people treat me with the same respect.
I guess girlfriends aren't really much better than boyfriends.

well, if you ask me, i'd try not to take it too seriously. i mean, how long have you known her? your whole life? a little bit? probably the latter, so just know not to give your heart away too soon, no matter who you're falling for.
oh, and who am i to speak? well, just a burner from the bm group who can't wait to get on the playa. i've gone six years, and it's always the same feeling of anticipation, worry, excitement and craziness every time.
