I'm trying to be happy

I hear you don't like getting older. I've been doing it for quite a long time and I'm not so crazy about it either! Let's assume you're going to live 110 years, ok? How many years do you want to spend being creative and enjoying yourself and how many are better spent lamenting what can't be changed? I know how easy it is for me to say that, but you can teach yourself not to deliberately choose being sad by practising and reminding yourself over and over that you can decide whether to see the glass as half empty or half full. Choose fun. It does take a while but people learn to do it every day.

Also, would you like to be 15 forever? Or 17 or 12? I promise that you will keep learning and discovering exciting new things and getting older will seem like a small price to pay when you look back. That's been my experience so far and I don't see it ever changing.

My friends were all busy on my last birthday but I was able to enjoy thinking about them and could imagine them having a good time somewhere. Love has no geographical boundaries.
