So with the Tibetan demonstrations and SG party in SF behind us, it seems like as good a time as any to squeeze in some shameless self-promo. I'm trying to raise some $$ for my life coaching classes, which start at the end of the month. So I've got my book up on Ebay and the starting price is less than what it sells for...

damn If I was in town I would have liked to have seen that show. It sounds like it would be really fun.

I think I can do that. I'm chauffeuring someone else to the reception, too. Call me so we can work out the details.

I had a dream that my right arm somehow got inked in a very beautiful, mostly reddish orange, sort of abstract floral, metaphysical full sleeve - and I will be starting my 1/4 sleeve next month - but this is by far more important:

Team Tibet Mass Mobilization in San Francisco this Wednesday!

Embarcadero Plaza, San Francisco

San Francisco is the only North American city...

I wish I'd known about this sooner so I could've attended. Hope everything went well.

Holy crap! I know exactly what you mean. This is a subject very close to my heart: I actually wrote about it last month HERE. I never get high holy pissed off about something, but I was that day.

I hope that you guys were able to send a message to the Olympic Committee and China itself w/ the protest. I hope it makes national news. The more people know about what's going on...especially this year w/ the Olympics being hosted there, the better off Tibet is.

Got mugged again tonight - this is really getting old. I have no more ID's, no passport should I choose to go to London next month, no cell phone, and the person I was recording with said it was because I touched a cursed microphone.

Happy Vernal equinox!
Just in from Black Sun and will be posting about it soon, but in keeping with the sequence of recent events, here are some pics from the release party for my novel, Evangeline and the Drama Wheel. I'm reading from the book, obviously, and Leslie Dean of Telto fame is singing and playing guitar. I wish I had photos of Kristine Katalyst's...

Figured you could still use this...miao!!

Hope the meds thing has worked out by now. That can be a real rollercoaster. Withdrawal symptoms suck puke frown

If you want to, you should totally post the wig pics. I think people would really dig it, knowing of others with Halloween oriented job opportunities. And surely they are the crowd who spends a good amount of time in Halloween stores checking out the merchandise! biggrin

Oh man, if only I had the means, I would so start a Halloween costume design company.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
I had a friend who worked in a costume house where they make some of those things and she said it was a pretty hellish place. Not as fun as she thought it would be, Halloween freak that she is.
Thankfully the fetish community makes some nice costumes (though tending toward a narrow selection of characters). Our local sex store is really good about getting in some better fare at Halloween than the standard cheaply made stuff and ubiquitous Leg Avenue. Though LA isn't too bad from what I've seen. At least they finish off and reinforce seams because that stuff is expected to be worn for stripping too.
Thank god for strippers and fetish tailors or I'd have no fun, durable all-year costume wear.
But I do need to start making more. My sewing machine is going to waste. whatever
It sure would be fun to make Halloween costumes, and fetish gear, and stripper costumes. Oh My! biggrin

Hugs! kiss kiss

So my 40th "bird day" bash was a blast and a half! Thank you all SO MUCH for your lovely comments! 20 friends attended, 2 clubs were visited (well, some of us went to a 3rd nightclub, Bondage-A-GoGo), 3 bands/performers played, the food and drink were awesome and the strippers were lots of fun. I'm considering working at the strip club, actually - the infamous...

So my 40th birthday is tomorrow and people have asked me what I wanted and I tell them, cat toys, kitty litter, toilet paper and deodorant (becoming a little practical in my old age, purr-haps? Virgo ascendant rising to the surface?)!... What would also make me happy is if people bought my book-baby, and I know some of you did when it first came...

It took me a couple minutes to figure out what you meant when you said that Mneylu was into the AE pantheon because I thought AE was short for something that referred to her having a set go up after initially being rejected.

Just recently I've had a bit of reacquaintance with the AE pantheon as I'm reading an art history text with the thought that art history would be something I'd like to do for grad school. I kind of went a bit north of egypt for my focus. I won a copy of D'Auleires' book of greek myths in the fourth grade for winning a spelling bee and then took latin in junior high and high school for no substantive reason, followed by being a classics major in college. Egypt is quite interesting in that it was such a long lived and ancient civilization compared to greece and rome.

Way back when I took a course on egyptian and indo-iranian mythology so I know the story of how Isis reassembled Osiris after (I think it was) set killed him and dismembered him. She was able to produce and erection and concieve from a corpse, so she must have been pretty hot.

I'm still feeling run down but I don't want to miss these events.
I'm not much of a gambler, but there's an ocelot sanctuary I want to check out at the Secret Garden (although I doubt I'll have time to go)!
Still haven't been able to reply to everybody, I'm really...
