I know that feeling. I had a great Christmas, just spent with my family drinking and having fun, but there's still something acheing and I don't know why. Yesterday, I listened to Edith Piaf, Bebel Gilberto and Serge Gainsbourg, all of whom have some good songs you could use. I also listened to a compilation of music from the 1930s. The 30s comp made me think of another choice: Kurt Weill! And if you choose the Weill/Brecht path, maybe you could go with Dresden Dolls.
I dunno, just throwing some ideas your way. Whatever you come up with, I'm sure it'll be stunning and sexy and beautiful!
