Reason #13532 that I love SG:

I bet the grand majority of us were NOT oogling over the Superbowl today.

biggrin

Good weekend: On Friday, I hung out with Jorotten at my very favourite trashy punk bar. Good conversation, good beer. =)
Saturday was to the pubs with some good friends, and a movie afterwards. 'The New Best Friend'. AWEFUL. Even good lesbian scenes weren't enough...

Super-Bowl
in sunny san diego where i live.
i went downtown at game end and to see maybe , a riot
yet only growls and people parading in skeleton shirts
then i saw tent of glory. huge inflated X-Box stadium
actually inflated
and i entered, and conquered everyone
and there were many 40 year old boob jobs
Hey you like Aphex Twin.. but have you heard the

I finished reading "Keep the Apidistra Flying" by Orwell last night. It was slow going - almost irritatingly so, but over all it was damn good. It's about money, basically, and how badly we all want it. The main character sees money as having complete control over people, and so to escape it he quits his job and takes one that pays only enough to...

Ah, I am adoring school! I know it's going to get hard really quickly though... not looking forward to the frustration that comes with.

I felt so incredibly depressed today. I had slept until two pm, and just lounged around doing nothing all day... gee, I thought, maybe that's why I feel bleh? So, I went out for an hour or two to a cafe...

Such problems sleeping lately. I don't know why... most of the time my sleep problems are stress related, but I'm pretty unstressed right now.. (give it a few weeks. wink )

It gets interesting though. Sleep deprivation makes me feel almost high. Sometimes I'm surprisingly productive. I went into a cleaning frenzy at 5am this morning - normally, I'd be comatose that early, hah.

Classes started...

I have trouble sleeping regularly aswell..it does suck. Something that helps though--for me atleast--when thoughts are keeping me up, is: I find something really boring to do but requires a lot of attention, like counting down from a really large number or doing the alphabet backwards. This kind of diverts the attention from worrying about things or whatever to that, and eventually that gets boring and I fall asleep. I know what you mean about the productive thing though.. I feel the most concious when I stay up late..and feel I do the best work then aswell.. but it's horrible for your social life and everything is closed.

An update!

Been busy lately, holidays and such... strange how that keeps me busier than school. wink (priorities, priorities...)

Christmas was full of family, good food and all that. And presents! I asked for some of the silly things I don't need (+ can't afford) but wouldn't mind having.. Perfume (Cool Water by Davidoff - my favourite!), a straighening iron for my curls... that, and some...

Tachos?

I didn't ring the new year in surrounded by anyone. Just me and one wonderful girl. No SGNY party, but I think what I had was better. (shhh, don't tell anyone I said that. tongue)

Happy new thing, Rosalyn.

thats good that you had somw good holidays. i worked on all of them, which kind of sucked, but the at least the holiday pay was nice. new computers are always good. the best thing i got came from my sister, she got me a nice framed print of "sleep" by salvador dali. which is my favorite painting by him.
now i want some of those nachos...

Saw LOTR 2... excellent! Too bad I hadn't seen the first one since the theatres... I was a little lost. Still great though, and the effects were beautiful.

Busy x-mas - family events the 24th, 25th AND 26th. I don't eat meat, so I'm destined to eat mashed potatoes for those 3 days, haha.. ah well, I *do* like potatoes. =)

Work, family, friends +...

Exams are OVER! What a relief. Not too confident about how I did though... the one result I've gotten so far is a 50. Eep. I remember a time when that would have bothered me... now, though, I'm just happy it's over, haha. Bad sign...

Now I've got two weeks to relax... or more likely, two weeks to be incredibly busy filling my time with...

One (of the many) tragic things about Ottawa is the lack of venues. Tonight I saw a show at this little hick bar... but I don't blame them for the location, since there really is nowhere else for small bands to play. Sad...

Yah, I know what you mean. I live in Northern Cali and when I was in high school the only venue that I cold go to was about 45 minutes away and I had to get rides with friends and what not. But thanks to that venue, I love live music more than anything else. Nothing like seeing a band up close ane personal.

My interest in history has been revived lately... I'm currently reading "A Short History of the World" by H. G. Wells. I've read about plenty of different time periods, but this book is doing an excellent job of tying everything together for me. Presenting history as an overview like this really demonstrates how history repeats itself... and highlights the major changes and turning points. Perhaps the most impressive is Christianity. Never been a fan of christianity, but one does have to admit it's profound impact on mankind... uniting people, teaching equality and human rights.. (at least it did originally whatever )

mk, night night.

... something's up with the Rice Krispies. They're everywhere, even after intense vacuuming. The box just keeps explodifying. It doesn't happen with other cereal, so it can't just be me.

I suspect elves. surreal

Oh gawd, squash. How did it take me 20 years to discover this delicious vegetable? Ahh... I'm eating butternut squash, sweet potato and steamed veggies.. this is the part of winter that I love.

Yes, I get overly excited about food. =)

That's how I feel even though I'm no longer at my dad's. I moved in with my mom in 98 and had been with her up till now. I always worried about what he did to my sisters -- older and younger. He's calmed down a little but he has a temper that scares the shit out of me. It's caused a lot of mental problems for me unfortunately.

You'll be okay and so will she.
