I was asked to post some photos of my cottage, specifically I think of some of the clutter / ephemera / oddities / whatever you want to call it. I've been here for three years almost exactly. It's the longest I've lived in one place since I moved out of my parents' house eleven years ago, though I'm not sure how much longer I'll be...

we are both collectors. i have a bunch of old glass apothecary bottles i found in an alley near my home, some still have old medicines in them. i don't know what to do with them at all. i collect way too many things and have nowhere to put them as well, my house is so tiny. but soon i will move and have more space! and a front garden!

So my current fascination appears to be making assemblage art. Inspired by my recent clutter trouble, I'm trying to transition from simply arranging my junk nicely on the windowsill to putting it together as artwork.

I've made some half-assed attempts to do this in the past, but this is the first time I've really put effort to it, and the results aren't totally awful....

The last blog said I was feeling upset and angry, which I was. I'm not feeling that way any more. Right now I feel sort of glad to have the day off, and also very cold. This is my third year renting this cottage, and my third winter being utterly frozen. We've got two space heaters running, though, which is great because they cost a...

Bad feelings :-( Hope they can be resolved soon.

You are welcome, and thanks for the incidental reference.

I've heard that piece of music several times over the years, and had thought it was by Bach. Did a bit of reading on Pachelbel, and learned J.S's elder brother studied under him, so perhaps has something to do with it.

Found a performance of Pachelbel's Canon in D Major that (as a guitar player, although with nowhere near this level of skill) blew my socks off.

And now for something completely different, as it were; a fine example of filthy low-brow humor I've recently read ....

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

A very attractive woman goes up to the bar in a quiet rural pub. She gestures alluringly to the bartender, who comes over immediately. When he arrives, she seductively signals that he should bring his face closer to hers. When he does so, she begins to gently caress his full beard. Are you the manager?" she asks, softly stroking his face with both hands. Actually, no" the man replies. Can you get him for me?" she asks."I need to speak to him," she says, running her hands beyond his beard and into his hair.

I'm afraid I can't", breathes the bartender."Is there anything I can do?" Yes, there is. I need you to give him a message" she continues huskily, popping a couple of fingers into his mouth and allowing him to suck them gently. What should I tell him?" the bartender manages to say. Tell him", she whispers, "There is no toilet paper or hand soap in the ladies room."

I see you have Beauty Redefined on your wish list, so I hope one of your friends and/or fans will get it for you. If they don't, you might want to consider saving up to buy it. Amazon is selling it for $33, and you can get free shipping, assuming you're in the U.S.

That's a great picture of you in your journal by the way.

Inspired by Fractal, I have a hopeful request: If any of you lucky folks have the new SG book, would someone mind snapping a pic of the page I'm on and posting it? I'm dying of curiosity.

Also:

I've been totally obsessed with VICE magazine all week. Someone mentioned this was posted on SG a million years ago. It's fantastic:

I'm about to start a painting commission that has to do with a Rumi poem. I've never read Rumi (it's not my style) but it turns out the Internet is a lot more full of his work than I thought.

Ooo! And now I don't need the dumb Internet anyway. I found the poem I'm supposed to be working from:

People are distracted by objects...
