I'm in Melbourne now, staying with Rys, who has a really great couch on which I can stretch out and read Skinny Legs and All - except - oh, wait, I left that at Marni's. I also forgot to return her keys... oops. My key pocket was empty! (Sometimes when I drink too much sangria I put my keys in my change pocket....

Australia kicks ass. Can't wait til your in Brissy.
Today I bet on the horses that are racing in the Melbourne Cup. If I win lots and lots of money (or as they say here, 'heaps' of money) I'll buy everyone a present*. I chose the horses based on their names, natch, but I also used my intuition, which has proven infallible** in the past.
Today I also went for a wander around...

DAMMIT MALPAL GET UP HERE ALREADY!!!
(miss you)
Friends: integrity, imagination, passion, intelligence, enough commonality for comfort, enough differences for things to be interesting. people who help me grow.
Lovers: see re: friends but add intense chemistry, a deep connection and the ability to differentiate between love, convenience and dependency. I've no interest in either of the latter two.

I feel connected to nature when I'm home (live by karapiro lake) google images it if you want, it's beautiful! In the summer or the autumn.. . Maybe because I have lots of memories of those times playing outside when I was a kid
I don't know if I'm getting pickier in relationships or just wiser .
I look for different qualties in a friend, basically I'm friends with anyone that wants to be friends with me
Those close to me are all so different so I can't have anything particular that draws me to them
Hope you won some money on the horses
I lost !! ! !!

I once stayed in a motel room that had a stairway just like that, that went up to a sleeping loft. The main part of the room below, had a couch and TV, ant the bathroom, etc. I had great sex in that room! ha ha

Malloreigh; make sure whilst you're in Sydney you check out the Bondi to Bronte coastal walk. Just a really lovely stroll along a ridge above a few beaches with some gorgeous views. Also, a decent shady bar to check out is the Town Hall Hotel in Newtown.
As for Melbourne I can't say enough good things except to take a jacket -- I was down there last January in the height of summer and it dropped to 16 degrees celcius in the evening.

i'm in australia! and my apostrophe/quotation mark key is acting up, so forgive any punctuational errors i might make.
it's so warm. i'm excited - new zealand was beautiful but chilly, like home (canada), and i had to wear a sweater every day. it's nice to be able to wear shorts and feel warm, even if there are flies swarming around and a big hole...

i haven't taken any photographs of myself since july twentieth. i just uploaded all of the photos i've taken since then and not a single one of them is of me. i think that's a completely unique event.
still so many things to purchase, find and make before burning man. still so much to do. and everything else on top of that, too. goodness gracious,...

the pictures look cute.
I wanted to go to the pride in Montreal, but I remember it 2 hours before it was going to start, and I was almost 3 hours from there, working my ass off.
bleh.
I wanna flirt with beautiful women too.

it's my birthday on the 12th august. since i don't really do new year's resolutions, i'm going to use my birthday as a chance to turn over the edges of this little ole leaf. i'm turning twenty-two. it's not a big birthday, really; twenty-one was kind of momentous, and everything before that was, but now i'm just "in my twenties". these years are for growing...

Heh, that's the funniest thing i've heard all day. I'm tired of sex. Well, atleast for now. Sleep. Now there's something I can't get enough of.

I can tell you what's worked for me as far as productivity:
Google Calendar for dates (syncs with iCal and most phones). What's great is that it sends you text messages as reminders, which really works well for me.
Backpack for simple lists and notes. Any time I get directions or a note or a quote I want to remember or a book or movie or music or groceries or questions I want to ask or talking points or anything at all I write it in my Backpack. It's the simplest and best way to keep track of all that stuff you always forget, or at least I always did. It's brilliant.
Vitalist for actual GTD. This is entirely due to it having the best iPhone version of any GTD web app on the internet right now. iGTD is much better, but it's a desktop app and you can only access it online if you have .Mac. Which I don't.
Ultimately though, it comes down to sticking to something. I'll go days without checking my GTD list, and things start piling up as overdue. But at least I don't forget stuff as often anymore, and kick myself at missed events I really wanted to go to. And I can write something down, a note, a list or anything, and know that I don't have to remember it and can always reach it on my phone.
Best of all, everything I've mentioned is FREE.
