Hey guys. Here's a question for all you makeup artists...

I'm still in school for cosmetology, and lately I've been really getting into makeup. I go to an Aveda Institute, and we're really focused on hair. Makeup is really left up to the estiology program. I really like Aveda makeup

I agree with LeyRae you really have to dig in and do lots of hands on stuff. Ask your friends to let you do they're faces for fun, volunteer to help out with fashion shows plays whatever. As far as makeup lines, all of them have there strenghths and weakness'. You have to find the products you like working with. You might want to check out some of the Kevin Aucoin books they can be helpful for ideas and small tips. But good luck and don't be afraid to experiment.

just do what you want... i never went to school for just makeup... and i was a make up instructor at my old school for 9 months... and i just have been doing freelance for about 3 years going on about 4 now... i work with photographers and models and all that fun stuff... and currently getting involved with Film... so it's out there if you want it. i know that the salon that i do hair at uses Aveda Makeup... i love it.. i'm not very familiar with the makeup line however... which is a shame.
make sure to take pictures of everything.. even if it's you before and after...
seriously it's not that hard gettign into it.. you just gotta get yourself out there... which i'm sure you will succeed.so best of luck lady!!!<3 i can give you some places to check out if you want too just let me know<3

I will be getting my makeup done for a special event, and I am debating between going to MAC or Shu Uemura. The last two times I have gotten my makeup done at MAC, I have been unimpressed. I love their makeup, and am happy when I apply it, but

As a third party makeup artist, I would say it's very much the artist. There are good and bad artists in any place where makeup is offered as a service. If you haven't had good luck with MAC artists in your area so far, maybe it's time to try something else. Try to be as specific as possible. Bring a picture. Tell them what you are open to, and what you are not. If you don't like what they've done tell them, but also tell them what you've liked. If you're paying for the service they need to put more effort into figuring out what you want from them. Communication is key.

For every situation I need different makeup or no) a bright makeup is important when I’m photographing or broadcasting, it emphasizes my eyes and makes the face more expressive😈 in everyday life I rarely use brightly colored in makeup and usually I paint over circles under the eyes and painted eyebrowsđŸ€€ But I spend time at home without makeup and then when I don’t need...

What are your opinions on this? I feel like I've seen a couple, but it's often hard to tell because some women are just SO good at that no-makeup-makeup thing. I'm not, haha. I've always worn 'minimal' makeup in my sets, but it's always still foundation/contour/defined eyebrows/winged eyeliner.

I have a bathtub set with @frankndame coming up and I'm SO pumped for it, and I...
