There are a lot of variables - technical skill of your artist, tattoo style (a lot of "trendy" tattoo styles like fine line and watercolor tattoos change dramatically and or don't hold up well over time), your individual skin type and genetics, how well you care for your skin/tattoos (moisturizer, sun protection, etc).

All that said. We're human, and we're going to age regardless, and with aging our skin and how we look changes. I'd rather age with tattoos than without.
