And so it's August! More than half of 2008 has already gone. Time runs a little bit too fast, as usual.
Anyway, I'm back from the Amphi Festival in Kln, which was a load of fun. Unfortunately, I could attend just the second day, since tickets for the first were completely sold out! I didn't purchase them in advance, never thinking they would have gone sold out. I missed The Klinik, who were in the end the only band of interest to me on Saturday. On Sunday, I managed to see some great bands, like Mediaeval Babes, Spiritual Front, Spectra Paris, Das Ich, Clan Of Xymox, Project Pitchfork, And One and Die Krupps! The atmosphere was great, many people from whole Europe and beyond, too many CD and LP stands (I spent too much! aaargh!), horrible weather that, nonetheless, added a special feeling to the music and the venue.
I wasn't very fond of Kln, if compared to other German cities I visited (Dresden, Leipzig, Berlin, Stuttgart, Hannover) it looked a lot dirtier and less fascinating. Talking about shops, on the contrary, there was so much to see, some of the best music shops I've ever seen in my life. Again, spent too much there!
Holidays are over, unfortunately. Now it's time to work and study as a good bookworm, the time for more live music and travel will have to wait until September, when Killing Joke will play a special two-day show with their early albums performed live! I will be there, of course.
