I decided tonight I'm going to write a "real" blog on here, as opposed to just another update about my comic. Speaking of which, there was a new comic posted last week, but I didn't really announce it because I cheated. Horribly. For those interested, there will be a new comic Wednesday, as well.
But, no. I didn't join this site just to plug my wares. That would have been horribly cynical of me. And highly presumptuous. I'm really neither of those things, at least I try not to be. I prefer the term realist, or the phrase cynical optimist. Either way, I like to acknowledge the harsh bitterness of reality, while also recognizing the possibility of how things can always improve-- or aren't as bad as they could be. I'm hopeful. Some call that audacious. Whatever.
Anyway. Why did I join this site? It started off when I went to a comic book convention down here and was surprised to see some fairly attractive femalesoutside the venue smoking. Not surprised by the smoking (I was doing that, too), but surprised by how attractive they were. Did I mention this was a comic con? When I went inside, I realized that, of course, they were Suicide Girls. And they were definitely plugging their wares (that's what she said). Well, my friends and I kept meandering and wandering by the SG booth, but we never approached it or said anything to the lovely ladies. It always happened when we were just moseying around the showroom floor. Basically, we were intimidated. So, I figured, the next time I run into a real live SG in real life, I should at least know as much about them, or the site, as possible. Hence, I joined the site at the end of that weekend. Plus, tattooed naked chicks. Duh.
I had also hoped that I might meet some new people. Preferably women, but, you know, whoever. Guys can be cool, too, I guess. For those of you in the Virgins group, you can probably imagine why (and probably relate to) joining this site for that reason. Those in the Masturbation group likely understand this, as well. Regardless, I have encountered some very cool and quality people on here.
But I did not-- have not-- met that "special someone" here. Instead, I think I may have met her out there in the world. But I don't want to jinx it. So, no spillage of beans on that front. Sorry.
Hmm... I think that's good enough for now. For you art fans out there, if you haven't heard of Brandon Bird you should really check out his website. And, if you have heard of him, you should refresh yourself. Check it.
