Sorry about that. I was just starting my second cup of coffee for the morning and Joe Camel called out to me. When Joe Camel calls you, you don't hit ignore.
I really don't have much to say, I guess, but I don't update nearly enough.
First things first, I posted a new Workland Tales comic this morning, and I kind of like it. There'll be at least two more in the coming week or so, so stay tuned for that. Also, my buddy who does Grim and the JC has been posting comics (more) frequently, as well. If you haven't been reading that-- which I contribute in a very Executive Producerish sort of way-- then you should. He's much better at web comics than I am. I suppose it helps when you can draw more than simply character designs.
Speaking of. He's let me borrow his old WACOM tablet, and while I haven't started using it for my comic, yet, I'm going to start soon. Probably. Hopefully. I've been practicing with it (not enough) and I'm still learning how to maximize it. It's really fun, but at the moment it still feels like painting on glass with a novelty-sized paintbrush. In any case, once I start using it the comic should become more visually interesting. Fingers crossed.
In personal news, I was supposed to visit a friend in Portland in a couple weeks, but I haven't been able to save enough money to do so. It's weird. I can afford it, or I should be able to, but every time I get the funds together, something comes up and then suddenly I'm just a few bucks short and can't get the plane tickets. Why can't airlines sell seats on an installment plan, or some form of lay-a-way? I could easily have gotten the tickets could I drop 50 bucks at a time. But no.
Ah, well. She's coming down to Dallas at the end of July and we're supposed to hang out, then. Assuming she doesn't shun me for being a fiscal retard. After all, it really hurts me more than it does anybody else. Right?
Right.
On my way to get a haircut and then head out to Arlington to visit my friendly neighborhood bakery. If you catch me meaning. Should be a good weekend.
Ciao!
