I travel quite a bit for work, and wind up spending a couple weeks a year in hotels. Let's say I'm in hotel rooms 10 nights a year.
On any given night that I'm in a hotel room, there are people in at least two rooms directly adjacent to me - so that's like 20 person-nights beside me each year I'm exposed to.
Stick with me on this train of thought.
Research says that 18-29 year olds have sex an average of 112 times per year, 30-39 year olds an average of 86 times per year, and 40-49 year olds an average of 69 times per year. This means that a conservative estimate is roughly that any random person is having sex more than once a week.
This means ON AVERAGE that out of those 20 "person-nights" I'm next to people each year, one of those two people should be having sex on three nights.
Vacation sex is even more frequent (purely anecdotal evidence here, though). So this "three nights" estimate is probably low in hotels.
So my question is: Why do I never hear anyone having sex when I'm staying in a hotel? This disappoints me. I do my part of this equation when I can for the people next to my room - why don't they do the same for me?
