ah, schadenfreude, it's been so long.
graduation has come and gone. i've seen off most of my housemates with the notable exceptions of ben and james who weren't actually graduating because they're just sprats still. i returned to a strange new hamilton reality, sort of. one without jeremy and tim and tits and pissnatch and gordon and et cetera, but i should clarify by saying that tim and gordon are hanging around for the summer so it's really not different yet. i received a warm welcome from (almost) everyone.
twas good to see sun again, even though i'd just seen her last tuesday. christ, that was only a week ago...strange how quickly the timeless somnabulance that is phill-in-lowville-time creeps up on me these days. it was also fantastic to see rachel, and even better to see dave for the first time in far too long. the highlights of the weekend were definately one occasion when tim turned to me and said with utter sincerity "summer is going to be amazing" and another when dave turned to me and said with similar enthusiasm "man, i can't wait until next semester" (or something to that effect). coupled with the fact that monica offered me first dibs on hours i have come to the conclusion that i am much beloved by those around me. that's a nice feeling, if you're ever lucky enough to experience it. it means that my personal initiative to be a better person (read: not a fucking asshole) that i started the summer after freshman year has worked.
i was lucky enough to cross paths with lynette and ollie. he's a funny fellow, with lopey alien legs and pale blue eyes, but he's also criminally friendly so i'm sure we'll get on fine. lynette was excited that i was wearing my skinny puppy shirt because she too had a skinny puppy with her, but hers was admittedly far less industrial. i still have no idea what my studio situation is for the summer beyond that it appears i basically get to dictate wherever i want to be. as long as i have a stereo upon which to blast 10,000 days and any number of killing joke albums i will be good and satisfied i'm sure. also, we get to have a big ol' cookout and that'll be cool because i'll get to hang out with miss bailey rogers and be artsy as fuck.
american pizza hut is more than enough reason to come home. i've decided that my version of the hummous supreme is superior to the original because i load it up with a crazy amount of feta cheese (like garlic, there can never be too much...which is fitting because i always go overboard with garlic too). i ate omlettes all three days, and have decided to lay off egg-based breakfasts for awhile, having probably returned my cholesteral to pre-london levels since returning.
