Finally! A day off to do whatever I need to do! Things like laundry, cleaning, and catching up on email. Speaking of which, I really need to email my advisor...
In class the other day, one of my friends mentioned how there were some people in the student union building who had on shirts reading. "This is what a feminist looks like." He made some ignorant remark about it. I asked him if he even knew what a feminist was, and much to my surprise, he actually thought about it before saying, "No, not really." I explained that feminists aren't, as some believe, man-haters who want males to be subservient to females. My open admission of being a feminist surprised him, I think. I would guess that I'm not perpetuating the stereotype, then. I do worry about that sometimes. It's partly paranoia and partly living in the same area as one of the people who tries to keep feminists in a bad light. I just want to give people the right impression about who feminists are and what feminism is.
I had more to say, but the obnoxiously loud bassline pounding across the street has completely disrupted any train of thought I may have had. It's just as well. I should get started on my laundry before the washer and dryer get hijacked by someone else.
Edit: Oh, and I'm going to dye the front of my hair again soon. I can't decide what color, though. I'm sick of the red. I'm trying to decide between deep purple, deep blue, or some sort of a teal-ish color. Not like that toothpaste shade teal, but a good shade of teal.
