So I just saw a ghost.... now what?
So as the title says, I saw a ghost. This actually happened to me back in June, however given the time of year, I thought I would write about it now.
On a Sunday sometime in June, I took my daughter to her grandmother’s (my mom’s) house. Going to the grandparent’s house on a Sunday was a tradition when I was younger and I want my daughter to experience the same. This had already been our Sunday routine for several weeks now, but this Sunday turned out a little differently than the rest.
At one point, I was changing my daughter’s diaper and I heard some feet shuffling behind me. I gave a quick glance to my right side facing down ( I was bent over because of the diaper changing) and saw feet wearing white socks and tan sandals. I assumed it was my mom because other than myself, my sister, and my daughter, she was the only other person there. I decided to turn around quickly because I thought she was trying to sneak up on me and scare or tickle me, and no one was there. I assumed it was my mom because she shuffles her feet when she walks and wears sandals at home.
Needless to say I was pretty confused. My sister was sitting on the couch in front of me, so I am positive it wasn’t her. I told my sister that I thought that my mom was behind me but I must have been seeing things. She looked up from her phone and asked “That wasn’t her? I saw and heard somebody walking behind you.” I said no and walked to the kitchen and saw my mom cooking and loading up the dishwasher.
Later on that day, I was in the kitchen rinsing one of my dishes before I put it in the dishwasher and heard a female voice, clear as day, say, “I have to go now.” Now the dishwasher is located near some windows, so it could have been someone outside but I know it wasn’t my mom or sister because they were asleep on the couch and my daughter was asleep in her playpen. I just thought it was spooky considering what happened earlier.
Just like my title says, “now what?” What are you supposed to do, if anything, after an experience like the ones I described? The only thing I did was shrug it off and continue with my day. If you read this and made it this far, thanks for reading!
