Gay Rights is way bigger than you think!
What separates America from Iraq? The people, the money? There are a number of things that separate the USA from Iraq on the surface. But the truth is they are both just countries. With people being governed, and controlled by laws. The real difference between any 2 nations is the rate of progression. Both these countries laws are based historic texts. But while Iraq has held true to theirs America has moved forward. America is country ever moving towards utopia. We create laws daily in this effort. We are change! We don't always get it right in the beginning, but we get more hits than misses. If you ask the average citizen is
America the greatest country on Earth he would reply quickly with, YES! People from other countries risk there lives to get here. They've seen and now desire the American dream. And who can blame them. Americas' culture and makeup are ever changing. And now we sit fore-front of the Gay Rights movement. For most heterosexual people this cause is an afterthought. It doesn't affect me? Why bother? This seems to be the growing consent of the people. But in truth, this cause affects us all. This is bigger than same sex marriage. At its core what we have is a country denying rights to its own citizens. A group of people who feel as though they are not considered equal in the eyes of the country has spoken up with intention of being heard. Women have fought this fight before! African Americans have fought this fight before. But we dismiss it when it comes to LBGT community. Marriage is defined as a union between a man and women via the Bible. Unfortunately it isn't the year 600. This issue will be indicative of the direction of the nation. Do we stay true to ancient text or to we move towards utopia? I personally am not affiliated with the LBGT community, but i cannot understand how the greatest country on earth denies rights to its own citizens based upon who they choose to love!
