well. this is a wierd couple of days so far this week.
rundown:
yesterday at the charcoal factory:
our power was out due to transformer problems all day so we had to go to the big warehouse and re-stack pallets that were sent from argentina to help us make our order quotas. Anyway, we were happily stacking away the loose bags onto smaller pallets when one of the guys screamed SCORPION!!! so of course we all gathered around it and admired the awsomeness. I had never seen a scorpion besides the zoo, so treat for me cause they are one of my favorite animals. anyway. one of the other guys called dibs and delicately put it into a ciggy pack and then an empty bottle of soda with a little sawdust on the bottom of it. We saw a bigger one but it got away before we could snag it for me. anyway. so out of a hundred plus pallets of that crap only two scorps... doubtful.
so he took it to the pet shop in town run by a scorpion enthusiast who tell s him that one good sting from this thing would kill him... needless to say i no longer want the other. but now our boss wants the one we found so he can find out if it is indeed poisonous. Read as destroy evidence that the containers were not in quaranteen like they were supposed to be.
the scary part is that these bags came on the truck unpalletized so a few of us unloaded deadly scorpion laden bags all freakin day!!!! He's supposed to be bringing it over today so i can take evidentiary pics of it with my meg pixel cam, but the way the weather is it probably won't happen.
so today at about eight oclock in the morning one of the women that work in my area was told that her husband who was driving his semi in georgia had a massive heartattack, went off the road, smacked into a tree and died... two others in the bagging shed left as well. they were related...
and then we wound up staying the last hour of our shift in the tornado shelter waiting for a twister that was supposed to hit our plant but veered three miles out and hit a town called peidmont instead, which many of the people i work with have and had family living in...
and now i am home, listening to the lightning and hoping that my compy don't get fried from it cause i really shouldn't be on it with the weather the way it is right now... but i needed my sg fix dammit!!! i have to work both jobs till sunday, but the cool thing is tomorrow is my five year anniversary at the plant... uncool that i've been there for five years, but cool because i have two weeks of vacation comming to me again... yay!!!! vacation days...
well. this is the longest entry i've had in a while... hope you all get through it... and if i can get pics of the scorpion before it goes the way of the beurocracy. i will post them... later all.
