Hey everyone,
I know I know, bout bloody time I did another update blog. I am so bad at these things. And I know I have been on the site quite a bit looking at new and hopeful sets, and reading blogs and forums and such. Anyways here we go:
Hope you all are doing well. Hope that life is going good and that everyone is healthy. Me? I think i caught the damn flu (it is going around the camp right now, AND I have been working alot so I am pretty worn out Day 28 right now out of 30) I moved up one of the mountains from working in the dispatch center to cover medical duties for one of the tunnel digging crews. Great bunch of guys here, totally made me feel right at home and part of the crew. It seems that quite a few of the workers from other crews and from my experience in the Gas and Oilfield is that crews dont like male medics on their sites. This crew is different. They are totally awesome and joke and chat with me like I am one of the miners here. Tomorrow I get to go into the actual tunnel and see what kind of job they are doing. I am really excited about that.
Anyways really not much to talk about this round. Show up here at location for 6am, do our safety meeting and plan of the day (POD) meeting and then I get to sit in a truck all day waiting for someone to get hurt. Which of course no one wants and these guys are really good when it comes to safety. Like we say at the PoD, a bored medic is a good medic. I rather be bored than busy any day of the week.
I am going to post some of the view I have here at this location. Mountains all over. It has been raining here for about 4 or 5 days now but we get the odd breaks. What is really wicked and awesome is the mountain across from where I am (about 3 or 4 km away across the valley) usually has 2 waterfalls flowing on it. Well because of all the rain we now have 7 waterfalls flowing. Its really neat to see them and if the rains slow down I am sure some of them will dry up fairly quickly.
Alright everyone, again hope you all are doing well. My regrets to those of you who do live chat, the internet up here at location totally blows so I cant really hook into the live chat without crashing within 2 mins. When I get out of here for my 4 days off I will be in chat a bit more and hopefully get to say hi to you wonderful people. Then when I am back in dispatch I will have a much more stable internet and be able to pop in more to say hi.
Cheers from the Mountain!
