I'm answering these questions in honor of missbunnie...

01. What is the middle name of the first person you ever slept with?
Ha! I know this! It's "Lynn".

02. What kind of underwear are you wearing and what color?
Hanes boxer-briefs, gray

03. What is the song you want played at your funeral?
Wave of Mutilation (UK surf version) by the Pixies

04. What...

The big secret:
Okay, I can't give away any details. (Not yet, at least) Especially since the project hasn't even been completed. But I've been invited to participate in a comic book anthology that will be released August 2004. It's not Marvel, DC, or any of the big boys. Fairly small publisher, but they have been featured in Wizard magazine... so that kinda cool.

Okay,...

I've got really great news! But... I can't tell anyone, except maybe fentopal. I can tell him, but no one else. Unless you $$paid me$$, then I might tell you. Or if you offered me any other acts of kindness, I could possibly tell you. But nobody else.

Not as though it really affects anybody. Just me. I'm excited. blush

A blogging friend of mine is compiling a list of the top 25 rock albums of all time (inspired by the Rolling Stone: Top 500). He asked me to contribute my own list. Here it is. Debate. Discuss. Create your own list.

1. PIXIES ~ DOOLITTLE
2. THE BEATLES ~ SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND
3. U2 ~ THE JOSHUA TREE
4. THE CLASH...

Nice house. My living room is a tad darker orange than yours from the looks of it. And are those Jones sodas along the top of the kitchen cabinets?

I think this is a movie that a lot of people love, but haven't got on DVD.

I say that based solely on you and me. But we represent a good portion of the population I'm sure. wink

I left the front door unlocked again. After I came home from Jumbo Super Buffet (one of my favorite Chinese resturants), I noticed the unlocked door. Had someone snuck in? Was a mysterious man hiding behind the shower curtain? So, I walked throughout my house with an aluminum baseball bat, determined to protect my homestead. Of course, no one was there except my cat.

I'm...

yeah man put a little more faith in your cat-
maybe you should give your cat the aluminum baseball bat- then you won't have any worries.
fentopal:
Or had a trickster god snuck in and replaced your cat, and he's just waiting for the right moment to unleash his ... tricks.

Nevermind. This is going nowhere. miao!!

Last night, I was depressed because a publisher rejected my proposal for a script I've been working on for months. My wife and I laid in bed and talked about all the bullshit writers have to put up with (i.e. you put so much of yourself into your work, and you get these horrible impersonal "fuck you" responses). Then we had sex.

I should get...

I'm working on a new script tonight. Usually whenever I begin a story, I'll create a mix tape/soundtrack to work off for inspiration.

Here's my current playlist:
1. The Guns of Brixton - Nouvelle Vague
2. Sort It Out - Caesars
3. Clampdown - The National
4. Never Ending Math Equation - Modest Mouse
5. I Heard Ramona Sing - Frank Black
6. Little Arithmetics...

I make plenty of funny faces at the kiddo.

Really, I like the mix tape idea. I'm going to give it a try.

I cannot believe you have: Ramona Sing, Little Arithmetics, Head On... Me and you could do a road trip; we have the same musical taste.

Sadly, I had never read any of Mike Mignola's HELLBOY until this week. I borrowed five of the books from my friend. I'm currently on my third book: "Wake the Devil."

It is so good... where have I been?

Heh... Was just brought up to date on Hellboy myself... Trust me, it just gets better...

Beusre to read The Right Hand of Doom BEFORE you read The Conqeuror Worm... Then hunt down the BPRD trade...

And it ain't that the story is so original, it's that Mignola is kicking serious storytelling ass and getting better as he moves along... Kinda like Azarello/Risso on 100 bullets...

Well, just in time for the movie...

Thanks for all the encouragement. The printers did not fuck things up like I thought they would. And now I'm spending my evening folding and stapling, folding and stapling, folding and stapling. Mindless grunt work for the mini-comic. Joy.
fentopal:
Hooray for folding and stapling!

My first mini-comic is off to the printer's. I have this feeling they are going to completely screw it up. I'm putting waaaay too much money into this book-- full color glossy cover. And they are going to screw it up.

I'm doing a small "limited edition" printing for the Isotope Award and to sell at our booth for the Dallas Comic Con Fan Day...

I want a copy. And I feel for you.... the printer sent me back practical photocopies of my work. But that was kind of the agreement, as our budget.... SUCKS. Eh... we do get paid a bit for it.

How are you? surreal
