I heard about this a week ago, but yesterday I finally saw it for myself. It seems that in Oaxaca, Mexico, military and paramilitary forces are striking down on members and supporters of the Popular Assembly of the People of Oaxaca. This group is "a fusion of striking local teachers and other community organizations demanding democracy in Mexico." A few have even been killed, or murdered is more like it, as I read and saw here. I have not heard about this once in any of the local or radio news, though I haven't had the chance (or desire) to watch Fox or CNN. It seems very weird that people would be demanding democracy at this day in age. I mean, look what happened in Iraq and they didn't even ask for it! Then again, Mexico is America's neighbor so it seems like we would be glad to give them a hand... Right? Mr. President? Oh, I guess he's too busy trying to figure out just how similar democrats and republicans are.
