I have a new (used) truck. It's a red 2002 Ford Ranger 4x4 with all the bells and whistles and that off-road suspension equipment. The reason I got this vehicle is because my little Echo was determined to be a total loss, so folks, find someone else's rear end to smash into, because if you fuck with me know, YOUR car will probably sustain more damage and it will still be YOUR FAULT. For those who are still paying attention, I have about 8 times been rear-ended in that car starting two months after I bought it. That's not counting the other accidents that it was involved in.
Anywah, everything is DIFFERENT from what I am used to:
1) it's an automatic. our other truck is a manual shift.
2) it's an american make. other truck is a Toyota Tacoma.
3) it's red (my least favorite color for a car except for black). Tacoma is white.
4) shift stick is mounted on steering column. Tacoma has it in the middle (I qualify this because some cars that are automatic have the thing in the middle, which at least gives your hand a placebo effect for the standard-to-automatic culture-shock)
5) the headlights are on a knob mounted into the console. Tac's lights are mounted to the steering column.
6) windshield wipers are on the same stick as the turn signal, which is on the left of the steering column. Tac's wipers have there own stick and it is on the right side of the steering column.
7) the radio is in a different place, and all the controls are different buttons. the white truck has one button that you press repeatedly to toggle the bass, treble, etc.
8) the a/c and vents and heat knobs are associated differently to the knobs. It's hard for me to explain . On the Tacoma, you have one knob for how much wind you want, and another knob for the temperature, another for what holes it comes out, and a button for A/C. the new truck has like, A/C, A/C high (?) off, then the things for head, feet, and vent on one knob, another knob for hot/cold, and another knob for how hard to blow.
9) the emergency brake is a pedal, and you pull a lever to release. the old truck (the old truck is actually a year younger than the new truck, we bought the tacoma new, but it has many more miles on it now) has a handle that you pull.
10) the 4wd is a knob on the dashboard, the tacoma has a small stick near the shift stick.
11) it has a key with a microchip ($$) and lots of buttons on the steering wheel (I don't know what the fuck they do yet). Tacoma doesn't have any of that crap.
12) it has a decal on the driver's window of a lotus, and on the rear passenger's side, of a salamander. Tacoma has a rod-and-gun club sticker on the rear window.
We have to bring it back for a few minor repairs (we bought it from our mechanic). The dome light is missing the fog lights don't turn on, and the thing that makes the mirrors move doesn't work in all 4 directions.
