Hey everyone,
Hope your holidays were great! I was lucky to have a very low key solstice/christmas/whatever it is you (the person reading this currently) celebrate. Family, friends, good food, and fun times.
What I want to talk about though, is something I've been seeing a lot of. Trolling. Not just that, though.
For context purposes, I want to mention that a League of Legends streamer, whom I enjoy watching. Was recently hacked, his information taken, and some very serious consequences came of it. It is not my place to say what happened, but if you look up PhantomL0rd, you can find out everything.
So what I want to discuss, and open up for comment to you, dear readers. Is the subject of 'Why?'.
Why do people feel the need to do things like troll others, hack them, DDOS them, etc.? It makes no sense to me. Now you may be thinking this belongs in my previous blog on negativity on the internet and in games. I can assure you that it does not. While trolling and these other things are forms of negativity, they are very specific.
We get these groups like Anonymous, DerpTrolling, and countless others. But the one question nobody ever seems to have a real answer to is WHY? I don't mean the standard 'answer' of "Because I wanted to". No, I mean the real reason. What drove you to do this to someone? To someone's business?
It just blows my mind that people can be like this, but then that's why I lose faith in the human race so often. Oh well, not a whole lot I can do, really.
Stay safe on New Year's Eve people,
Blessed Be
Cody
