a'yep, that's how I'm spending this 3rd day of my vaca, since tomorrow the shuttle arrives 11 or so to take me to the airport and meet up with my daughters and ex for Denver
first load of laundry is in the wash as I type - I'm lucky there was a machine open
*whew* time has flown and we're here already - seriously, it came fast, even these couple vaca days of laziness and random walks flew by ( which is good when it's just me )
what few suggestions I have gotten for the Denver trip, though, have all involved either beer, drugs, or white-water rafting *sighs* ( or combinations thereof )
not exactly my cup of tea - or things I'd even consider doing with my daughters, no less :(
SO... if anyone has any NON-beer/drug/white-water suggestions for the trip - hit me up today !!
ANYways...
guess we'll figure it out when we're there - the ex is renting a car so we're not reliant upon local transportation we're not familiar with
( besides the fact the ex and people don't always mix very well ;) )
I'm sure the hotel will have the usual rack of sites, etc that most hotels do...
and I'll be bringing my laptop so we can figure out anything online if need be
sounds like the ex needs the vacation as much as I do, even though she's largely going for medical reasons
she's going a little crazy where she's living - wish I could get my daughers and her out of that household, but unless I win a lottery
they're seriously not good for her or the girls *sighs* - and, no, state and local assistance are out of the question ( she's tried and was denied )
:(
moving on, though - I didn't do my usual vaca 2+hr walks to the local theatre BUT since I'm going to be flying out figured I didn't want to be in post-long-walk pain at the airport or with my girls
not that going t'see a movie wouldn't have been nice, but I can do that shit ANYtime...
this is the first trip I've taken with my daughters !!
( and first flight first class and first trip to Denver and longest time spent in one location/hotel and [etc] )
I'm sure it'll be fun/enjoyable - that's what vacations are all about...
plus it'll be fun t'see how my daughters react... to both the flight and to being somewhere completely new
and, yes, I admit that I did intend on typing up some poetry and posting it but time flew by before I remembered/realized *shrugs*
I'll get back at it one of these days - really, I will !
so... for now, farethee well my Lovelies and Gentlefolk - until next post !
twits::
7/11 : last workday until the last week of the month - last vaca of the year and next week in Denver (DTC) ... a lot t'do today before relaxation
7/13 : 2 days... suppose I should start thinking about what I should be sure to have packed and ready for the big family trip to Denver/DTC
7/14 : seriously flooding - vs what ? "oh, hey, I was just kidding" flooding ?!? ANY flooding can be dangerous - particularly with idiot people !
