Before I head out my first vacation in 25yrs with my fathre into the land of 60°, a pause... a moment, if you will...
my oldest friend died a week and a day ago and the memoria has still been finding a place to settle - wonderful memoria, but still...
then there's the legends . . .
last year ended with Lemmy Kilmister
this year we've been inundated already with Angus Scrimm, David Bowie, and Alan Rickman - and we're only 2weeks in !!
add this to the number of people in these past 2weeks dying of or being diagnoses with cancers - a co-worker lost someone this week to cancer :(
I admit, I should be used to death - should be... the son of a rat bastard has taken a liking to me for decades now *sighs*
I've been a lucky SOB and somehow survived a lot more than someone in those circumstances should have... and I haven't been to a demn doctor in over 20 years!!
( this, of course, makes my actual state of health questionable - and I'm more than happy with that lack of knowledge... it's not as if I could afford to do a demn thing even if there issomething going on in this physical frame of mine )
and - as I've mentioned quite a bit - since '88 there's only been ONE DEMNED YEAR where someone I knew didn't die... 2012
there's been years where there's only been one person (*crossing fingers that Jenny is the only one I know this year*) - but there's also been that one year where TWELVE people I knew died *sighs*
I have no bleedin' idea or inkling why death has taken an interest in me or my life... you'd think it'd be bloody bored by now !!
ANYways... still have a bit more to pack, mayhaps I'll even shave, before I hit that shuttle to the airport and we sideline to pick up my fathre en route and on to Nevadaland we go :)
So I leave you Lovelies and Gentlefolk with the usual random twits, flicks I've devoured, a few youtube-renditions of the subject title tune, and the words I tend to share and live by :
Life is about Living
Catch y'all when I return next week
twittages ::
1/11 :
a world full of odd coincidences - my oldest friend who died last week was the last who'd actually seen me play... punked-up Bowie songs
1/12 :
3 layers and Vikings pull-over under hooded leather jacket, hand heaters in my gloves... and this 5min walk to work will STILL be cold :(
and, yes, the office I work in is in the warehouse, heated by a little space-heater that I'm the first to turn on/last to turn off
1/13 :
just a couple workdays before vaca with a lot of work on my docket... in early, stay late, priorities set - can only do my very best...
1/13 II :
most sadly amusing SOTU statement ever :
"It’s one of the few regrets of my presidency — that the rancor and suspicion between the parties has gotten worse instead of better."
(wow)... this from the very same N0bama that isn't willing to compromise and work with the other party to find a middle ground?
just... (wow)
1/14 :

busy workweek, 3rd time last person out!

my favourite version by The Heavy - the one that IF anyone is ever stupid enough to have a funeral for me, THIS song had better be played! ::
the hippy-happy Blood, Sweat, & Tears version that most people know ::
