You'll make many choices in your life, many small ones and some momentous ones. Some few pivotal Choices that seem insignificant at the time. My freshman year in college I had work/study. Different areas of the campus had different jobs. Maintenance, security, library, computer labs, cafeteria, res life, etc. I procrastinate, so there were 2 job placement areas left to fill for me. I was given the choice of working in the library or working in the cafeteria. No brainer for me. I figured I'd get bored in the library, and the cafe paid an extra 25 cents per hour because so few people were willing to do it. I had the best time. Sure, I worked, but there were great people, we all got along, we had a good time. Almost 30 years ago, and I'm still friends with many of those people. You learn a lot about people when you work in food service. A good judge of peoples character is how they treat people they feel are beneath them. I truly think it would do a world of good if every single college student had to spend at least a semester in the college dishroom. Especially those who think it's "gross" or "icky". I learned a lot of respect for those who are willing to do jobs that are needed. Though who can be trusted to show up. Those who are willing to work. Those who can be depended upon. I eventually got hired as an employee of that cafe and worked there for 16 years as a cashier. That was a Choice, and a good one.
