Consequences are a bitch.

In other news:

If I were to be completely honest with myself I might admit I was slightly disappointed with the mark I got for my last design assignment. Luckily I am a huge liar and therefore can keep up the pretence that it was all I hoped for.

I feel like crying and/or sleeping all the time right now, maybe...

no, that would hace been cool though. she ran out of gas so i zipped on my motorcycle, picked up a gas can and gassed her up. on the way to her car though one of my bungee straps came loose and the can fell on the road. luckily no one ran it over. what was your latest design assignment?
umbradigital:
Haha screw marks.

I nearly flunked phootography a couple of times... well unitl I decided to conform to their lame ass ways and passed with excellence.

Now i'm not studying, i'm doing what I want and hell - no-one has asked me to do anything like what I did to get "good" marks.

Still its always nice to see that A+ written on the paper huh?

I seem to have a heightened appreciation of girls lately. When the cute smiling girl at yoga smiled my way I nearly melted despite the freezing weather we're having.

What I should do is find some sort of website that has pictures of hot naked women. Yeah, that would totally sort me out.

I'm being positive today.
I see a good thing coming out of a certain trainwreck of a thread: a fair number of people making an effort with their spelling and grammar in order to be above reproach.

In less positive news: I hate doing spec sheets. The only thing I can think of that sucks more is coming up with production sequences.

When you spec your sheets it makes me want to sheet my specs. That's RIGHT. I can think of no finer, yet less intelligible compliment or encouragement than that. You GO, GIRL!

Is it necessary to be able to draw decently to become a fashion designer?
I have trouble with it you see.

see?

Maybe I can hire a police sketch artist to interpret my ideas.
sagavallis:
I think that sewing and ideas would be more important wouldn't they?

Here's a sort of similar story of obsticles: I have a composer friend who hums his stuff to another friend to write down, because he doesn't have the first clue how to read or write music on paper. And he played one of his works with the Stalingrad symphony in Russia a few years ago.
miaow:
.

your illustration is sweet. i pretty much sucked at trying to get my ideas across in the way they thought appropriate, being those tidy industry friendly presentations. i just dont have those skills.

for one of my final third year projects i drew these weird monster people with my garments on them for the critique.

basically, they were awesome, and gave me the giggles. they fit my concept and those with the marking powers couldnt really argue with me about it.

so id say nope. you do not need special drawing skills to become a fashion designer.

After being on this site for a year I finally got the idea of "befriending" people I find interesting rather than just reading their profiles and blogs like a creepy stalker.
One small step toward social eptitude*

*yes, I know that's not a real word but it should be

If I'm using LaTex to typeset my assignment for fashion school does it mean I'm in the wrong field? I guess latex would be kinda appropriate for a textiles assignment. Hurr hurr.

I think I have watched too much "Black Books" in the last 24 hours (I watched all of it). My head seems to be throbbing the theme music even though I turned the...

I did it!
I totally bullied/tricked myself finally into doing drop backs (like into bridge) unaided.
It did involve making my husband stand in front of me and pretend he was going to assist me and also I had to have a second yoga mat laid over my main one to drop back onto. Physically an extra 5mm of rubber isn't likely to make a...

"I remember when first we kissed, though it was nothing at all like a wrecking ball."

Gillian and I are having a wee singalong.

So I survived my week alone despite small incidents such as locking myself out of the apartment and finding a catepillar in my edamame (well, I found it in my mouth but it got in there from the edamame).

Happy news...

So I've been off doing other stuff for a while. Nothing exciting. School, visiting the folks, knitting a hat, stuff, things. Actually I kept coming back and checking groups but never writing anything 'cos I was lazy and then because I didn't want people to know I was really here and feel pissed because I wasn't giving them comment love.
My ratties died. It was...
