Remember Don Quixote's opening line: "In some La Mancha village, whose name I don't care to remember...." ....? When thinking of a location for his novel, Cervantes chose La Mancha as the shittiest place he knew... now every Don Quixote reader can't help thinking of La Mancha as one of the most poetic place name in the world, a name fit for the birthplace of the greatest of all knight errants...

Everytime I read "Edmonton" in your profile, Leonard Cohen's poem's title "Edmonton, Alberta, 2 in the morning" surfaces to my memory*... and it stays stuck in my head... and I can't help thinking of Edmonton as a poetic place... even if of course, I know I could be disapointed if visiting, don't tell me...

* in fact, the exact title I remember is "Edmonton, Aberta, deux heures du matin"...cause I read it years ago in an early '70s copy of a French translation.

Ha. Yeah, lots more flowers down here.

As far as awesome goes...I DO think Chicago qualifies, but you've been here, done that. Um. How about. Um. London is cool...

Apparently there's some sort of hallucinogenic in the roots of cattails. My cousin told me once. And then this one time I was picking cattails in the rain and I got a sliver of one of the roots in my finger and I got all dizzy and laid on the road for about an hour in the rain. I can't remember much of it, though. I was really young... probably 8 or 9 years old.
