"All those stellar voids are where mankind set up home in ages past. We keep blowing ourselves up and the survivors move elsewhere... no, wait; that's my theory that we keep bouncing back and forth between Earth and Mars, ruining one planet while the other recovers."
I saw that comment on the Holy Universe Batman article just a moment ago and I have to say - it kind of made me think. That is certainly a good point to be made, and really, it could be entirely possible if you think about it. Who knows if the history that we know of really didn't take place only a hundred years ago, maybe the fossils we're finding or humans and animals were from billions of years ago and left there while we evacuated, let the planet regrow and then at some point moved back. Maybe we were primitive people for far longer than we thought, and with the theories going around that some ancient civilizations had visits from aliens...maybe they weren't aliens at all, maybe they were just people visiting us. It could be some conspiracy surrounding our entire existence on this earth, that perhaps the history we read about in school is some fabricated story to cover up the truth.
I don't know, it's just an interesting perspective on something that's been debated for years. But really, being a not so into religion type of person myself - well not organized religion anyway, I do believe in some form of higher power that governs but does not control our actions and our world - the idea of the big bang theory has always been a form of truth to me, I believe that's what happened and until I'm shown with hard evidence that it is not correct, I will continue to believe that. And I'm sorry are you religious ones out there but words in a book are not hard evidence...words in a religious book are faith with no basis...were you around when it was written? Were you around when God placed man on earth? Did you see them poof into existence from absolutely nothing? Were you there when Jesus rose from the grave? No, you weren't....so why do you think those stories are true? Granted, I suppose that's somewhat hypocritical since theres no REAL evidence on the big bang theory, but really...doesn't that seem more logical than a bunch of things just poofing into existence. Science and research to me has more credibility than what some people, who were probably schizophrenic, wrote in a book.
And if God is real and I go to hell for writing this, and am going to hell for being a lesbian, and am going to hell for at some time in my past giving a blow job on Sunday morning, then I guess I'll be Satan's best buddy. As another of my gay friends says, "I always wanted to be hot." Though truthfully, I'm a pretty firm believer in reincarnation or some form of past life because I experience dejavu far FAR too often.
