So, I have been a member of this site for several years now and have never done anything other than upload a few pictures and make a few random comments. I figure it is high time I write something on here. The wife and I went to the Blackheart Burlesque show down in San Diego, Ca a while back, so why not make my first blog about how it went..?
As we are both pretty big fans of Suicide Girls, we were excited to hear about the upcoming tour. We got our tickets pretty far in advance and made sure that we would both be off work so we could attend. While waiting to enter the House of Blues, we hung out and watched all the weirdo's walk past and were very entertained by the girl in front of us who was stoned out of her mind. Since we were the first in, we could pretty much stand wherever we wanted, so we opted for the 2nd story balcony. We let all the young guys who think they have a shot at hooking up with one of the girls have the stage area. There were not a whole lot of people in attendance, I guess there are still lots of people who don't know where the hottest girls on the planet are located... sad.
The show went on for about an hour and a half. Katherine was the host, and I must say that she is just as gorgeous in person as she is in her pics. Mel was the DJ, and just like Katherine, she did not disappoint. I don't exactly recall the names of the 4 girls who were doing the dancing, but they were not bad looking. They seemed to be enjoying themselves and were good enough dancers for me. They danced to several skits from Kill Bill, Planet of the Apes, and my favorite, Star Wars. All in all it was a good time and I would go see the show again. However...
There was a negative about the show that the wife and I talked about on the way home. The lack of dancers, four just didn't seem to cut it. It made the show short and was basically the same dance routine each time they came out, just different costumes. We were really looking forward to seeing more.
Because I don't like complaining about something and not having a potential solution… There were a few local Suicide Girls helping out with the show, Katherine brought them out and introduced them and messed with them a little bit. This gave me an idea. Why not have these girls do a little something during the show? Don’t have to necessarily dance, but do something to add to the show. Pay them a few bucks to act out a goofy skit or display a talent they have, I don’t know. I’m sure some would be down for it. A few of these girls lined up at each stop could add a little local flavor. They did pull a couple girls from out of the audience towards the end of the show and had them dance around for a bit, that was cool.
In closing. The show was really cool and the wife and I had a good time. I would definitely like to go again. Hopefully it is not another 6 years till the next tour…
