I really like understanding how things work....but from an internal perspective. Whether it's because of my rough childhood or just because of my fascination with discovering what makes things tick, I've studied a ton about psychology and what makes us all do the things we do.
I got really into this from just being so amazed at how unrational the mind really is. Like for example, if you want to start exercising, you'd think it would be as simple as just deciding to do it, and start a routine, and go for it....but it's never that simple is it?
What really drives us is our unconscious programming, and lots of times it's all old and outdated, and keeps us stuck in our current situations. I like learning how to reprogram the mind.
Just like we automatically do the same things (without awareness or thought), I've been on a quest to figure out how we can do positive and good things for ourselves automatically as well.
One of the concepts I liked the most was put forth by Igor Ledochwski in his "Self Hypnosis for Guaranteed Results" program. We think of willpower being our power to do something; to supersede our unconscious programming and get things done.
However, in reality, there is no such thing as willpower; in reality, all there is, is attention (both conscious and unconscious). When we use "willpower" we are really just focusing our conscious attention upon something, and therefore are able to do that thing.
The trouble comes in because, consciously, we can only focus on a finite number of things (roughly 5-6) at once. Once our conscious attention is distracted, we will find ourselves doing the exact same thing(s) we've always done.
This is why I've made it my focus on how to change the unconscious programming, because in this way, we no longer have to try to focus our conscious attention on what we want to have happen...rather, it's best if we DON'T focus our conscious attention upon what we want (because we get in our own way), and just let our unconscious do what we really want to do (and the conscious and unconscious are both on the same page).
So, just some more info about me and what I like to study and occupy my time with.
