I'm home. I'm packing and moving. I should be out doing some holiday partying, but tonight the party is right here. A bottle of wine, sushi, and about 100 boxes I'm trying to fill.
It looks like a bomb went off. I almost seriously injured myself tripping over one of the boxes running to get the door for the delivery guy.
Thank God I can donate some of this stuff. I was trying to be green about it all, and recycle as much as possible, but my friend Sue was making it very tempting to toss everything. I'm moving into a small studio about a tenth the size of the apartment I live in now. The word of the day is downsize. . .
I will miss living here. This home was built in 1903. It has amazing personality. There are beautiful moldings and the original gas lines that lit the hallways are still up, plugged, and hopefully not leaking anything that is going to make me nuttier than I am already.
By the numbers...I have lived here for 8 years. Many, many memories. A darling landlady, two wonderful roommates, one horrible one, a few awful boyfriends and one I still love. Three different jobs. One life threatening illness. A ton of travel. 9.11.01. . . A new car. 7 different beach houses. God this could go on. . .
I turned 30 here. I came face to face with adulthood here. And I had some damn good times. . .I move on January 15th. The next episode. . .
