I'm convinced that the last three days are the closet I've ever come with dying. I got some sort of flu, I guess... but let me put it in perspective, I don't get sick. Getting sick is maybe a once per year thing with me. When I do get sick, it's a 24 hour thing and then I'm done, bounce back and ready to go again at the start of the next day...
Friday... well, Friday I thought was bad, until Saturday. Checked my temp on Friday night at 101.7. Whatever it was kicked my shit in on Friday. Thank god the base was closed due to "OMG SNO!" cuz my happy ass woke up, hit dial for base info, heard 'essential per-" hung up, and went back to sleep... at that point I'd had 6 hours of sleep, I slept for 10 more. Yeah. It kicked my ass.
Felt better beginning of Saturday, was still groggy, really congested (which by the way is an interesting side story that hopefully is going to get me to quit smoking... and my interesting I mean 'fucking gross'), big ass headache, and muscle soreness...but Sat. morning was no fever. 'bout noon, I had to cash in my chips, the fever hit me like a mack truck. I got horrible fucking chills, ended up grabbing my winter coat... and passing out on the couch. When I woke up it felt like my eyeballs were on fire. Didn't bother to check my temp, tore my clothes off in a disjointed trail to the bedroom, curled up with my comforter and waited to die. Fell asleep instead.
Yeah, I was disappointed too.
In 3 days, I've drank more water than I thought I should, yet I'm still fucking dehydrated all the time (cuz I'm sweating it out, even tho my stomach says 'no more water plz!") ... I think I've eaten maybe 2 bowls of soup (Thanks mom!) in that time, and that's about it.
Yeah, my parents new house they moved into back in the summer is like two miles from here. When my mom found out I'd got the plague she dropped off some soup she'd made. Evidentally she got the plague (or something similar) at the hospital she works at and has been doing the Soup+crackers=no puking routine for the last few days.
Still, very shocked that it kicked my ass that hard.
Hell, Today has been the only day I haven't had a fever, so I guess you could say that it was only a 48-hour bug, but all the coughing/hacking/head-achy shit should count for something.
Meh, it's times like this that make me miss Meghan that much more. It's always nice to have someone there to take care of you. At the same time, it's nice that she's not here, cuz she would've probably got it from me. I definately would not have enjoyed that, though I would've liked taking care of her... meh, those of you with significant others know what I mean.
