oh yes, the whole ecolinguistic thing is so easy to spot in australia because although it is english, it is an english that truly reflects the culture. i've been living here for almost 7 years straight now, and i still crack up when i hear things like "too easy!!" or "allright" being a lot better than "good" or any of the understatements underpinning everything. ha. it's fantastic though, everyone is basically happy with their lot, there's not all that manic striving and working for success. or maybe that's just the kids i hang around with. i can't help but call them kids in their funloving ways...
