Funny story about my latest set in MR review now.
Okay. So my best friend's family was selling their house. She was living in an apartment off her college campus and the rest of her family was living elsewhere. And therefore they had this beautiful empty house in town.
So I ended up getting permission from my best friend to use this house to do my SG shoots. All of them so far have been shot in this gorgeous house.
We shot all three in one very long day.
Well. We were 2/3 through the last one, Tempera Tantrum. [Check it out. It is my favorite so far] When my best friend's younger brother, age 16, decided to pay us a visit. AWKWARD!!! He is the only one of the family still living in town, but he moved in with a friend of his. But he had gotten calls about lights being on in his house. And he showed up and we had locked all the doors and had the only key. All of a sudden, I'm stripped down to nothing but my panties when we thought we heard noises. And then we were certain we heard voices just outside the window, which thankfully were covered with my white tarps. Finally a loud pounding at the door. My photographer went to answer the door and hold him back while I struggled to throw my pants and a hoodie on. But the boy burst through carrying a golf club, luckily not until I managed to attain some sort of decency. He looked around, saw the paint and freaked. Well freaked more than he was freaking already. Thinking we were going to ruin the house's chance of getting sold.
So he was like "What the fuck is going on?" And I explained that I had had her sister's permission to use the house for a photo shoot. But of course, he didn't care and only yelled at us for turning up the heat, moving the furniture and everything else we had disturbed. My photographer Aaron assured them we would have everything back to normal by the end of the night and they wouldn't be able to even tell we were ever there.
We finally convinced him to give us a couple more hours to finish and clean up, although he demanded he have the spare key back, which scared the hell out of me. I was sure he'd try to burst back in and get a better look.
But thank kittens, he didn't and we put the house back together. Though I heard from his sister the next day that he demanded I go back and mop the kitchen floor. The only thing he could find to complain was footprints. Which may have been his for all I know.
I am really thankful the set ended as well as it did. I had been thrown out of my concentration and especially my comfort zone. I was sure I would just look uncomfortable through the rest of it. But I managed to pull it off somehow.
Let's all just hope that Aaron will come home from Japan soon so that I can shoot some more sets.
