A few weeks back I discovered an excellent little mediterranean restaurant near my townhome that serves delicious shwarmas and other delectable middle eastern treats. All of which are made by a large brown woman who is afraid of touching hands. One day when I was about to pick up my dinner from the Kabob Kafe, I noticed a little Balkan deli/meat mart a store or two down, adorned in various Balkan pamphlets and meat come hithers.
Intrigued, I stopped in, and there... in a glass cabinet, was a lamb completely skinned, lying delicious. Next to this nigh-prepared beast was a tray of glorious, uncased sausages. These magnificent Lamb and Veal logs glowed beneath the soft flourescent lights. I immediately ordered a pound.
The owner, Eddie, proceeded to tell me that the sausages would be the best I'd ever tasted. He then informed me how to cook them properly and demanded I call him to let him know what I thought.
I said, "Yes, tiny Balkan man, I will grill some up tonight and you will receive a call."
And so I cooked these magnificent logs and the first bite was indeed nirvana. These sausages are like a buttery blend of meatsplosive taste and texture that bring but one word to mind - perfection. Truly, the best sausages I have ever had.
Eddie was quite pleased when I confirmed the glory of his sausage a mere 20 minutes after purchase.
