Last week my family and I went to the zoo. I decided it would be a good time to get a get some practice with my new camera for photography class. It's just a simple manual SLR. I took some good pictures of flamingos, peacocks, and chimpanzees,
It's funny how the peacocks just wander around the zoo,
I also tried to get a picture of this bird, but it looks like I need to focus a little better!
The primates really surprised me. When you see them up close, it is disconcerting how human they look. There was one ape, I'm not sure of the species, who was trying to sleep, and kept rolling over and adjusting his position the way a person would. Rosie the gorilla, had the most emotional effect on me, though. She looks at you with the most piercing eyes, with a look of "Why am I here in this glass cage?" It made really sad. It also made me wonder about people. I guess there isn't much that separates us from primates, and that is a little unnerving. Our place in the universe may be a lot smaller than we would like to believe.

No, I can access the photosets just fine. It's just that the internet is only available in the computer room and to some extent the front lobby and cafeteria - all extremely public places. And some people just aren't comfortable with hot naked women, ya know? Zannen.
