I’ve had a love/hate relationship with Dentists since one completely botched a root canal about 7 years ago. Some eepy bugs crept from that into my jaw and started killing teeth like a row of dominoes falling one by one. I regretfully stayed stupid about it until my Cardiologist literally screamed at me, during the preop exam for an upcoming angiogram, regarding the connection between oral hygiene and heart disease Published by Harvard University
So today I went under the Oral Surgeon’s knife. The last remaining infected tooth and socket harbored the vestiges of a pretty gnarly infection that was beginning to resist upper level tiers of antibiotics. After peeling my gums open like a briefcase he said “that bad bone has to come out too” ... oh joy 😫
After a few hours I surprisingly began to feel better! Yes I’m still bleeding like crazy *expected* yes it hurts like 10,000 motherfuckers *also expected* by my inner self is feeling instant relief that I no longer have to battle that demon from wearing down my immune system. The bleeding and pain should subside in 48 hours, my jaw will look like I took on a 10 round prize fight, but I’ll keep getting healthier every day 😊
My goal in posting this is: Please don’t put off any bad oral hygiene problems any more! Your life Seriously depends on it!
Oh yeah, that’s a closeup of the chunk of infected jawbone he cut out. Look how black it is from necrosis, eep! Please never let things get this bad ok?
