It was love at first shot.
My Nikon D700 fit perfectly in my hands. It became an extension of my body. The line between camera and myself blurred so much I can no longer separate the two. Photography entered my blood stream and now I can't live with out it.
I have high aspirations for my career. I hope to one day be a photographer for National Geographic. I have a lot to learn to get to that level of quality, but I know I can get there.
In the beginning I mostly took scenery pictures. There are so many amazing scenes in Canada I want to capture them all.
Recently I have been taking more photos of people. So much more can be told in a picture with the emotion of a person.
I love the sets on Suicide Girls. The women are gorgeous, and the photography is stunning. I appreciate the talent the photographers have, weaving together a story with each set. Analyzing each set, studying the poses and imagining how the photographer captured the moment made me realize:
I want to be behind the lens, telling a story for Suicide Girls.
Recently I had a stroke of luck. Through a mutual friend I met someone who wants to be a Suicide Girl. I sent her my portfolio and she liked my photos. We met to discuss possibilities for her set. I was nervous. This opportunity is such an honour, I didn't want to mess it up.
We talked for several hours. Ideas formed easily, and we chose a location for her first set that night. I went home in a daze. I couldn't believe it.
This dream of mine is becoming a reality.
I need to get a portrait lens (it's on my Christmas list!) and she wants to get her sleeve completed. We are planning to shoot her set in the new year. I can't wait! This is such an awesome opportunity for both of us.
I will keep you guys posted on the progress of this, and hopefully in the future you'll see a set on here that you love, by yours truly.
If I can take my best pictures, I'm confident that she'll become a Suicide Girls. Her beauty is undeniable. My challenge now is to capture that beauty to share it with you.
